Aynsley Bone China of England created this elegant, classic pattern called Water Lily. The registered number is 765788 in their scalloped design. This number means the design was submitted to an English council in 1939. It is highly collectible.
To show it to its best advantage, Aynsley used a deep shiny black as the background with softly scalloped edges trimmed in encrusted gold. Even the handle is unique.

Aynsley, a highly popular manufacturer, was owned by John Aynsley and Sons Ltd. and produced their wares at the Portland Works in Longton, England.
