Hand painted Irish shamrocks grace the basket weave Belleek teacup and saucer. The pieces wear the fifth green mark meaning they were made between 1955 and 1965. The small pottery village of Belleek in Fermanagh County, Ireland had local clay deposits the produced exceptionally translucent goods. It became known as Parian, a soft, mother of pearl glow that became associated with Belleek China. The world took notice and since 1853, Belleek has been prized. The inside of the cup has a very light yellow iridescent finish.
All the Belleek marks contain the Irish wolfhound, the Devenish Round Tower, the Irish harp and the touch of Irish shamrocks on each end. This lovely Parian ware is known for its translucency and quality.
The price is for the teacup and saucer, free shipping within the US, free gift wrapping and free shipping insurance.
Measurements: The saucer has a 5.6" diameter. The cup is 2.5" high and is 3.5" from rim to rim.
