Remarkable for its ability to coordinate with a variety of table linens and settings, this blue Wedgwood teapot, creamer and sugar bowl is elegant.
This is a Tea for Two set. The teapot is called a two cup pot. In other words, it is perfect for breakfast for two people or afternoon tea for two. It is also superb for an individual. These smaller pieces are difficult to obtain.
This piece has the manufacturing date of 1959 for the creamer, 77 for the sugar bowl and 59 for the teapot, incised on the bottom. This is called Jasperware Wedgwood. It is noted for its velvety finish on the outside. The inside is shiny with holes in the neck to help strain the tea. The creamer is also glazed on the inside. The details are superb. For example, the spout is trimmed with a garland. This was done during the firing process. There is an air hole in the lid to prevent dripping when being poured.
Wedgwood of England is known for its use in the finest homes worldwide.
The price also includes free US shipping, and free insurance. This teapot is heavy and therefore is not eligible to be sent overseas.
Measurements: The Teapot: It is 4" high. From spout to handle is 7". It is 5" wide. It holds 13 ounces.
Sugar Bowl: It is 2" high and 2.9" from rim to rim. It holds 1/2 cup.
Creamer: It is 2.5" high including the handle and 5" from the tip to the outer handle. It holds slightly more than 1/2 cup.
This English teapot is in excellent condition. There are no cracks, chips or crazing. We do not sell damaged items. You may buy with confidence. The base is incised with the words: Made in England and Wedgwood.
