This lovely Hammersley teacup and saucer is reminiscent of a pretty setting within an elegant home. The bone china teacup is trimmed with gold. Note the interesting handle and the scalloped edges on the cup and saucer.
This English bone china backstamp was issued in 1939.
Hammersley was part of Hammersley and Asbury, of the Prince of Wales Pottery from Longton, England. This was one of the many prestigious factories which made up the Staffordshire potteries. It was founded in 1872.

Do not wash any of the china in the dishwasher. It may cause crazing if boiling water is poured directly into the cup. These are not made for microwave use either.
