This teacup and saucer was made during Victorian days. This is an elegantly rich, unusual set of bone china made by Hammersley. This distinguished firm existed from 1872 to 1932.
The name of pansy comes from the French word pensée (thought). So since ancient times, this flower was a symbol of remembrance.
This romantic Hammersley teacup and saucer creates a sense of luxury that was dominant in the Victorian era. The creamy white background has a raised pattern which makes it unusual.
From 1972 through the 80s, Hammersley China was part of the Royal Worcester and Spode Group. Production continued up to 1988 when the Hammersley brand was sold to Aynsley China
Hammersley was originally part of the Prince of Wales Pottery from Longton, England. This was one of the many prestigious factories which made up the Staffordshire potteries.
Measurements: The saucer is 5.6" in diameter. The cup is 2.9" high and is 3" from rim to rim.
