Irish shells border the New Shell Tea Ware Belleek tea cup and saucer. Notice the ruffled rim and pretty basketweave design.
This wears the sixth green mark meaning it was made between 1965 and 1980.
The piece feature seashells with highlights in luminescent yellow.
Belleek is well known for their Parian ware. Quality and fine craftsmanship have been the guidelines of Belleek Fine China of Ireland since its inception in 1858 on the banks of the River Erne.
The river provided the power. The Irish provided the skill. The land provided the raw materials. At the Dublin International Exposition of 1865, the Irish Parian ware won its first gold medal.
