This hand painted Hammersley teacup and saucer commemorated the Royal visit to Canada and the United States. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip made their State visit in 1957. T
This is a rare antique teacup and saucer. The borders are Canadian maple leaves. The cup has the royal crest, flags and motto. It was designed by F. C. Clay. Of course, it is English bone china.
Hammersley was part of Hammersley and Asbury, of the Prince of Wales Pottery from Longton, England. This was one of the many prestigious factories which made up the Staffordshire potteries. It was founded in 1872.
Measurements: The saucer is 5.5" in diameter. The elegant cup is 2.6" high and is 3.25" from rim to rim.
