A mixture of French clay containing kaolin from the Limoges region of France create the light but strong teacup and saucer.
This antique teacup and saucer was imported by the prestigious Gerard Dufraisseix Abbott. GDA was formed by the manufacturers in France and Abbott, the importer in NY form. The French company had purchased the Haviland branch around 1882. The A in the backstamp began in 1901 until 1941.
