With an appreciation for quality and glamour, this artist signed, hand painted, gold trimmed handled bowl is stunning.
This Coalport Porcelain piece proudly bears printed crown mark which was issued in 1881 and used until 1939. In this case, the artist signed and dated the piece in gold as RPK, 1896.
The footed rim of the basket does have a chip in it. Normally, we don't sell anything with damage, but these type of Coalport items are on display in the Victoria and Albert Museum.
This is simply too special not to offer it for sale.
It is hand painted and each flower is slightly different. the gold is heavy and only on the footed bottom does it show wear and a tiny chip caused by use. The pastel aqua is sumptuous. the handle is strong.
Measurements: The oval bowl is 7.75" in length and 4.5" wide. Overall the piece is 5.5" high.
